In the mood for a tropical vacation? Try a COCONUT SALT SCRUB for your hands , feet or any place that needs a little attention.
1 part coconut oil (example: 1/2 cup)
2 parts salt (example: 1 cup)
Take any container large enough to hold the total amount of your salt scrub (example: 1-1/2 cups). I highly recommend unrefined coconut oil but any coconut oil will work. This will be a little bit like working with shortening, but is wonderful once it is mixed.
Add salt (I like table salt as the granules are smaller. ) and stir until mixture is a nice consistency. Add salt or oil as needed to give a thickness easy to spoon out of the container.
You can add a few drops of essential oil (lime is fun with the coconut aroma, kind of smells like a margarita ) or leave it plain with the delightful tropical aroma of coconut.
Leave sitting by the sink so you will use it when ever you wash your hands. Apply about one half teaspoon and massage your hands. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. You will feel like you just got back from the tropics and your hands will be soft and wonderfully aromatic. Enjoy!
