It is always easier to prevent infestation than to treat the little buggers once they move into your home. Try an all natural blend of essential oils that repels most insects, including head lice.
Use MONSTER spray before heading out the door. Spray hairline just above the temples, behind ears and on top of the head. Most kids will find the spray fun and it has a nice pleasant lemony aroma
As with all natural products it is advised to store away from heat and direct sunlight to maintain quality. As with any product if irritation occurs, discontinue use.

SIMPLE SUGGESTIONS
Use a high quality nit comb daily to examine for lice/nits and to remove any that you find
It is also suggested that applying oil (olive or almond) to the hair and or comb may be helpful in slowing the little critters down so that you can remove them
Tie hair back or braid to keep close to the head, this reduces the likelihood of it coming in contact with another student
